Our MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) package is designed for personnel already working in the IT field wishing to focus more closely on Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio with .NET (prounounced Dot Net), SharePoint, Project Server, Windows Server, SQL Server, Exchange Server, and Windows Client. It also has particular relevance to people with an existing MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) who are wishing to upgrade their certifications.
This new type of certification reflects changes in technology and business needs. Unlike the much older MCSA and MCSE certifications, the latest version of Microsoft certifications are more specialised allowing the certification holder to focus their skills in a key area such as those mentioned above. In most cases, a candidate only needs to study one Microsoft module/course, to gain an MCTS. The only area where this is the exception is .NET, where the candidate must study and pass the foundation module 70-536 first, which is supplied in this course. For more information on the different areas you can become an MCTS in, browse through the syllabus by clicking on ‘What’s in the course’.
Customers will get access to all of the certification areas listed in the syllabus by purchasing this course package, allowing them to pick and choose which technology area to specialise in.
The next certification level after the MCTS is the MCITP. In order to gain an MCITP, most candidates must obtain several MCTS certifications first, making this course package a natural stepping stone for anyone wishing to upgrade at a later stage. To view which MCTS certifications are required to make up an MCITP, see the course syllabus in our MCITP course.
This is an online Interactive Series course package. Read our FAQs for more details.
